VERSATILE MOTH ORCHIDS

• Water

  Dip the pot in a bucket of water once a week and drain well. If the Phalaenopsis has been used in a floral arrangement and cannot be dipped into water, give it one espresso cup of water once a week.

  If the leaves and petals are drooping and wrinkly the plant is not getting enough water. Give the plant a boost by placing the pot in a bucket of water for a day.

• Consumptie

  The Phalaenopsis of Stolk Orchids are not suitable for consumption.

• Voeding

  Stolk Orchids uses sustainable cultivation. This gives the plants enough nutrients for the entire flowering cycle. If you trim the Phalaenopsis after this cycle to stimulate the next flowering cycle, then give the plant special orchid fertilizer (available from garden centres) every six months after trimming. Follow the instructions on the packaging.

• Zon

  Place the Phalaenopsis in a bright, draught-free room, but avoid direct sunlight. Yellow spots on the leaves may indicate burnt spots.

• Snoeien

  Once the Phalaenopsis has bloomed, you can trim the branches between the first and second eye. This is a thickening in the stem from which a new branch can grow. After trimming, place the plant in a cooler place and water it once every fourteen days. As soon as the new branch begins to grow the plant can be placed back in its original position and should be given water once a week.

• Temperatuur

  Phalaenopsis flourish between 15°C and 25°C. As long as the plant is not systematically exposed to higher or lower temperatures, it will not die.
